Before you start even designing your business cards, you need to decide what elements you will include. You obviously want the basics, like your business name, your name, your phone number and email address and your company's postal address on your business card, but what about your logo?
Your logo should be on all of your marketing materials and that includes business card printing. Make sure your design leaves plenty of room for your logo. A logo makes it easier for people to remember you and your brand. It's a way to give people something that they can glance at and know where you work. Here are five more reasons why you need your logo on your business cards.
1. A logo increases customer loyalty. People cannot be loyal to you if they do not remember you. When you give new customers your business card, they will often remember the graphic easier than they will your company name. When they are telling their friends about you, they will have a graphic image of your logo in their head. If you do not use a logo and instead use a generic clip art graphic, they will remember that graphic but not you. Make sure your logo is only connected to your company.
2. You look more professional and trustworthy. Logos make companies seem more "real". Scammers do not often take the time to make a logo and print it on their business cards. A logo can make you seem more trustworthy. You will get more respect because your company can seem bigger than it really is if it has a logo. Make sure your logo looks professional by hiring a graphic designer to design it for you.
3. A logo reflects your brand message. A logo can convey the kind of emotion and appeal you want people to feel when they think of your company. People will use your logo as a way to differentiate you from your competitors and any newcomers to the industry. Your logo is a graphic representation of what your company offers. Eventually, you want people to look at your logo and know that they are working with a dependable company without having to read your brochures or other marketing materials. Eventually your logo can say it all.
4. Your logo can help your brand become more powerful. The more places you use your logo, the more recognizable it becomes. This translates into a more powerful logo. Place it on your Web site, your products and all of your marketing materials. The more places people see it, the more your logo can influence their purchasing decisions.
5. People will judge you by how you present yourself. This means everything about the design of your business cards to your clothes will give people an idea of what you represent. It gives them an idea of who you are and what kind of company you run. Make sure your business card design complements your logo because your business card is often part of your first impression.
