London is britain's capital and the world's ninth largest city. It boasts a rich history that spans almost two thousand years, which started when the romans arrived soon after their invasion of britain in AD43.

London is placed on the river banks of the thames, in the south east of britain.

London has a rich history that goes back over 2 000 years. throughout this time, the city has become one of the cultural and financial capitals of the world. its also suffered from the plague, devastating fire, civil war, and terrorism.

London suffered particularly throughout world war 2. It suffered bad damage from bombs throughout this time and multiple of thousands of kids in the city were evacuated out to the countryside to avoid the bombs. The worst bombing took place between 7 September 1940 and 10 May 1941.

London is a great place for tourists, particularly as its got so many museums & galleries. these include the Natural History Museum, which first started in 1881. This great museum boasts a few fantastic exhibits, comprising of the well-known replica diplodocus skeleton, often known as dippy, which is exhibited in the museum's central hall. Another great exhibit is the skeleton of a blue whale, which weighs a major ten tons & is exhibited in the large mammals hall.

London is renowned for its shopping, so you'll find everything from quirky independent shops and markets, to designer shops.

One of the city's most renowned shops is Selfridges, which is located on Oxford st. It was original opened in 1909 by Harry Selfridge, who wanted to make shopping lively rather than just a chore. He succeeded and the shop now boasts 4 other branches in various cities throughout the uk.

London has exciting history, which we are sure that all of us will find stimulating. From exciting museums, to elite night clubs and bars, there's things for everyone to enjoy in London.

One of the most famous night clubs is the Embassy, which is a members club on Old Burlington street. The night club is pretty costly, but it's full of celebs and exciting for star spotting. as well as this, it serves exciting food by michelin award winner Garry Hollihead.

There's 1000s of hotels, guest houses & bed & breakfasts in London, so there is accommodation to suit any funds. From well known names for instance the Hilton, the Dorchester & the Marriot, to cheap hostels, there's things for everyone to enjoy.
